The user desktop can be any browser or JAVA client on any supporting platform.

For a major credit card issuer, evaluated the technical and financial feasibility of migrating credit card and collection processing applications from the IBM Mainframe to a Sun UNIX environment.

Demonstrated savings of 82% in processing costs as compared to traditional mainframe processing, with annual processing costs approaching $1.00 per card per annum. This design can be scaled to 1,000,000 credit cards – and beyond.

We are currently developing a web site for a large and specific target market. The site is follows a Yahoo-type business model with revenue derived mainly from advertising. The site will provide up-to-date targeted content, and derive additional revenue via pass-through services and products. The site will be accessible via traditional and wireless Internet connectivity. Pacific Consulting Services has an equity position in this venture, and will be its sole provider of software services and support.

Conducted market research covering Asia/Pacific region for the leading developer of credit card software.

Managed a project for a pilot implementation of EMC's Symmetric Data Recovery Facility (SRDF) over a 200MB link connecting Citibank, Singapore's two data centers. SRDF provides remote data mirroring at the backup site to reduce significantly the time to recovery, as well as simplify the supporting Contingency of Business (COB) procedures. We worked on this project with Comdisco, EMC, and Singapore Telecom. Our study included the evaluation of various software-based alternatives. It was determined that EMC's SRDF (Synchronous Mode) was the best alternative. The system has now been successfully implemented.

Provided these services to a leading Nasdaq-listed Silicon Valley computer company on a long-term basis.

Provided high-level technical and business planning services for the start-up of a major 200,000 square foot business continuity, disaster recovery site in Singapore for mainframe, mid-range, server, and PC platforms.

Capacity planning for financial applications was performed to size the correct implementation of an IBM mainframe processing facility.

This was followed by detailed plans for:

1. The establishment of the necessary connectivity and telecommunication links for the mainframe system facility.
2. The staffing and training of adequate operations and technical services staff.
3. The implementation of a Contingency of Business (COB) plan.
4. Total costing of all system and network hardware, including the costs of IBM and related 3rd party systems software, staffing and space costs.

Based on these factors, a Cost Benefit and Break-Even Analysis was produced along with a comprehensive project implementation plan.
